Dr. Holcomb / Lewis dentist of Macon, Ga.

1. I had a piece of cement to break off my crown, I ask them to repair it I was given a round the bush answer and it was not repaired, now the whole crown has falling out. Another time I needed an prescription for antibiotic due to my problem with my gums, they would not give me an prescription. This time I needed a filling everything was okay except for the receptionist that tell you what you should pay, she over charge me 75.00 copay, she said the reason was because I only had teeth cleaning, well that was unbelieveable. I called my insurance company they said I should not been charged, which was a overcharged. She is pocketing the money from patients. She overcharged one she overcharged others.

Missed diagnised ...

My family member who is also a dentist looked at the work she did...damaged tooth next to the one she did a filling on and the filling needed replacing in only months after she did it. Also the staff tries to upsell. They try to get you to get extras saying insurance may or may not cover it when I believe they know that nsurance will not. Not just floride but other things. Friendly and pleasant staff and doctor, but I would rather not gave my teeth damaged when she is supposed to be helping or improving my teeth.

Megan Shiga DDS

My wife called to schedule the appointment. She spoke with the secretary and provided all of our insurance information. The secretary noted all of the information, confirmed the appointment and acknowledged that everything was all set...there was no mention of Megan Shiga not accepting our dental insurance. My wife showed up for her appointment a few days later. It was not an urgent or critical appointment. Megan Shiga's secretary had my wife fill out paperwork and she made a copy of our insurance card. The general cleaning and exam went without issue. Dr Megan Shiga appears young and just starting out. There were no complaints about her basic dental exam and cleaning skills. However, a week or two after the exam we received a bill for the full amount...there was no full/partial payment applied to our insurance. My wife called to clarify. The same secretary who fielded the initial call (who inquired about insurance and set an appointment), and the same secretary who made copies of insurance cards and who booked the appointment, was the same secretary who notified my wife that, "oh, we don't take the insurance.". At the time we wanted to support a young, new dentist to Chagrin such as Megan. But her staff: - Lied about accepting insurance - they reviewed the information over the phone - Scheduled an appointment - Made copies of the insurance cards - Smiled the whole time...never once said we don't accept your insurance program - Waited until services had been performed and sent an invoice weeks later. Megan Shiga has a staff that is headed by a secretary who is not competent at her job. Megan Shiga's secretary provided false information over the phone (she reviewed insurance information and set an appointment), and she provided false information as the time of appointment (she made copies of insurance cards and said "you're all good"). Megan Shiga may not accept our insurance. Apparently she does not. This is something that should have been explained by her secretary. On two occasions - 1) the scheduling of the appointment and 2) the actual appointment - the secretary was presented with insurance information. This is the same secretary who informed us when we called to inquire about the bill that, "oh, we don't accept that insurance" I'm not commenting on Megan Shiga's dentistry skills. But, from my family's personal experience she seems to be using aggressive and misleading tactics from her staff to secure new clients. I'm sure that's challenging for a new, young dentist such as Megan Shiga to succeed and grow a client base...but if her staff is using exploitative practices that is a direct representation on her.

Nowa days most people are corrupt in the Dental field they know people need their teeth fixed I have had several Dentists take advantage of me because we are poor and they do care no matter what!!!!!!!! I was with Dental Health services and this Dentist messed up my teeth and I wrote to the California Dental Board and they are a joke they did not help me I had given them evidence and case law from the library and they said that this man didn't do anything wrong and the same thing happen to me their staff are professional LIAR'S!!!!!!!!

And then I went to a Western Dental on Hawthorn and Rosecrans Ave. And the Dentists there made me crowns that were messed up and when I wanted her to take them back they called the Hawthorn Police and had us removed mostly all have soul out to the LOVE of money!

So just know u are not alone.
